When suspicion falls on Nigel Forks, the passionate festival organiser who’d publicly clashed with the victim, Lucy’s dormant detective instincts begin to stir.
With her keen observational skills and methodical mind – plus some unexpected help from Sir Meows-a-Lot, a stray ginger cat with impeccable timing – Lucy starts peeling back the layers of Lower Wick’s seemingly peaceful facade. What she discovers is a web of buried grudges, mysterious connections, and secrets that someone is willing to kill to protect.
Could the murder be linked to the controversial housing development the vicar opposed? What about his enigmatic past with the village antique dealer? And why is everyone so interested in a letter that ended up in the wrong hands?
